Overview

Smartr365 uses Azure B2C for authentication. Because B2C maintains a single active session per browser, logging in to a second firm account in the same browser will sign you out of the first. The solution is to use a separate Chrome profile for each firm.

Setting Up a Second Chrome Profile

  1. Open Google Chrome and click your profile avatar (top-right corner of the browser).

  2. Click Add (or + Add another profile) to create a new Chrome profile.

  3. Give the profile a name — for example, the firm name — and optionally choose a colour.

  4. A new Chrome window opens for the new profile. Navigate to the second firm's Smartr365 URL (e.g. firm2.app.smartr365.com) and log in.

  5. You can now switch between firms by switching between Chrome windows. Each profile maintains its own independent session.

Tips

  • Use different Chrome profile icons or colours for each firm so it is easy to tell them apart.

  • Bookmarking each firm's Smartr365 URL within its dedicated Chrome profile ensures you always use the right profile for the right firm.

  • This approach also works with Microsoft Edge, which has the same profile-based session isolation.

Common Issues

  • Still being logged out of one firm when signing in to another: Confirm you are using separate Chrome profiles and not just separate windows or tabs within the same profile.

  • Profile approach not possible: As an alternative, use two entirely different browsers (e.g. Chrome for one firm, Edge for another).
