How to mark a document as visible to a client

You can control whether a document is visible to your client by using the Visible toggle in the Document Store. When a document is marked as visible, your client will be able to see it in their Client Portal.

Steps to mark a document as visible

  1. Open the relevant case and navigate to the Documents tab to open the Document Store.

  2. Expand the relevant document category (e.g. Financial Documents, Identity Documents, Mortgage Documents) to find the document you want to update.

  3. Locate the Visible column for that document. You will see a slide toggle showing either "Yes" or "No".

  4. Click the slide toggle to change the visibility. Toggling it on will set it to "Yes", making the document visible to the client.

Things to know

  • Visibility can only be toggled by advisers -- clients cannot change this setting themselves.

  • The toggle is not available for deleted documents.

  • Documents in the Application Services category do not display the Visible toggle.

  • Changes take effect immediately -- once toggled on, the client can view the document in their portal straight away.
