How to convert a lead

Converting a lead turns it into a full case in Smartr365, allowing you to begin working on it. Leads are typically generated through your QR code, introducers, or your website.

Steps to convert a lead

  1. Click Leads in the left-hand navigation bar to open the Leads screen.

  2. Find the lead you want to convert. Each lead card shows the applicant name, contact details, mortgage amount, buyer type, and introducer information.

  3. Click the Convert button on the lead card.

  4. A dialog will appear asking you to assign the case to an adviser. Select the appropriate adviser from the dropdown list.

  5. Optionally, add a note and set a follow-up date. You can choose a quick option (1 day, 3 days, 7 days) or pick a custom date.

  6. Click Convert to create the case.

What happens after conversion

Once the lead is converted:

  • A new case is created and assigned to the selected adviser.

  • You will be taken to a second step where you can send a Client Portal invite to the applicant(s), allowing them to complete their fact find and upload documents.

  • The lead is removed from the Leads screen.

Things to know

  • You must select an adviser before you can convert -- this field is required.

  • If the lead was already assigned to an adviser, that adviser will be pre-selected in the dropdown.

  • Your follow-up date preference is remembered for future conversions.
