Broker-led Credit Checks
In partnership with Experian, we've launched Broker-led credit checks.
Here's how it works:
Simple Consent Process: Obtain consent directly from your client by clicking on Request consent via the Case Summary or Credit History screen.
Seamless Client Interaction: Your client will receive an email to accept or decline the consent request.
Immediate Credit Check: After client acceptance, you'll be able to conduct a credit check through the Credit History page.
Automated Data Integration: Experian retrieves the credit file, securely stores it, and automatically updates important client details such as credit commitments, address history, and credit history.
*Please note: This is a paid service. You will receive 10 credit checks for £15 per month. Credit checks cannot be rolled over to the following month.

Detailed Instructions
If you want to invite a client to access Experian credit reports, simply follow the steps below.
There are two places in Smartr365 where you can conduct a credit search:
1. When adding a new case to the system
On the client to-do list you can select "Add Credit Report" to invite the client to provide their credit report via our Experian service.
When you click on "Add Credit Report", the option to "Request Credit Search Consent" will be pre-selected. You can also change the option to ask the client to provide this via the HomeBuyer app.
If you continue with the option selected by default, simply click on "Send email" and the client will receive an email asking for their consent for the adviser to run a credit search on their behalf.
See an example of the email below:
If the client clicks "I agree, continue", the client has given consent and the adviser will be able to click on "Run credit search" from the Credit history page.
3. After the client has been added to the system:
- If the client already exists on Smartr365 then access the existing case and select bank statements or credit report on the toolbar at the top of the page.
- Select the send invitation button on the page.
If you requested consent via the New case feature, you'll be able to "Request consent" and "Run credit search" directly from the Credit History page.
By following these steps, you can easily invite a client to access Experian bank statements and credit reports.
