How to Use Solution Builder for Protection Quotes

Guide for using Solution Builder (iPipeline) to generate protection quotes, compare providers, and add policies to cases.

Overview

Solution Builder (powered by iPipeline/Origo) lets you generate and compare protection quotes from multiple providers directly within Smartr365. You can add quotes to a case, download application packs, and apply directly to insurers.

Before You Start

  • Credentials: Solution Builder is configured at the firm level (no individual adviser credentials needed). Your firm must have an active iPipeline/Solution Builder agreement

  • Occupation Codes: Each client must have a valid Origo occupation code mapped β€” this is critical for generating quotes

  • Protection Fact Find: Must be completed before sourcing

How to Generate Quotes

  1. Open the case and navigate to the Protection section

  2. Click Source with Solution Builder

  3. Smartr365 sends the case data to Solution Builder and retrieves quotes

  4. Review the returned quotes including product name, provider, and premium

Note: If some quotes fail to generate, you may see a "Succeeded with Warnings" message. The available quotes will still be displayed.

How to Add Quotes to a Case

  1. Select one or more quotes from the results

  2. Click Add to Case

  3. The selected policies will be linked to the case

How to Apply Directly to an Insurer

  1. From the quote results, click Direct Apply on the chosen quote

  2. A new window opens with the insurer's application form, pre-populated with the client's data

  3. Complete any remaining fields and submit directly

How to Download Application Documents

  • Application Pack: Downloads a ZIP file containing all required documents, saved to the case document store

  • Individual Report: Downloads a single PDF report for a specific quote

Troubleshooting

Issue

Solution

Solution Builder option not available

Check that your firm has active Solution Builder credentials (firm-level configuration)

"Occupation code not recognized" error

Update the client's employment in the Fact Find to map to a valid Origo occupation code

No quotes returned

Verify the Protection Fact Find and Demands & Needs are fully completed

Succeeded with Warnings

Some providers may not return quotes for certain risk profiles. The available quotes are still valid
