How to Complete the Protection Fact Find in Smartr365
Overview
The Protection Fact Find captures your client's key personal and health information needed for protection sourcing. This includes their occupation, height, weight, smoking status, health details, and will information.
Getting Started
Where to find it: Open a case, then navigate to Protection > Protection Fact Find from the left-hand menu.
Who can access it: Any adviser with access to the case.
Step-by-Step Guide
Open your client's case and navigate to Protection > Protection Fact Find.
Complete the Occupation section. If your firm has Solution Builder credentials, you will see an occupation code dropdown. Otherwise, a Job Title field will appear based on the client's employment records.
Fill in Date of Birth and Gender if not already populated.
Enter Height and Weight. You can toggle between Metric and Imperial units using the unit selector.
Complete the Will section: indicate whether the client has a will, and optionally add a review date and Power of Attorney details.
Complete the Health section: confirm smoking status, general health, GP details, pre-existing conditions, and any additional health information.
Click Save to store the fact find.
Tips & Best Practices
Ensure employment records are entered in the Fact Find > Income section before completing the Protection Fact Find, as the occupation field is populated from your client's employment data.
When switching between Metric and Imperial, the system automatically converts values for you.
All fields marked with an asterisk are required and must be completed before saving.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why is the Job Title field greyed out?
A: If the client does not have an active employment or self-employment record, the Job Title field will be read-only. Add an employment record in the Fact Find > Income section first.
Q: I see an occupation code dropdown instead of a free-text Job Title field. Why?
A: Your firm has Solution Builder credentials configured. The dropdown allows you to select a standardised occupation code used by protection providers for quoting.
