Save Profile Button Is Greyed Out After Adding a User's Team or Role Assignment

Why the Save Profile button appears greyed out after adding or viewing a user's team and role assignments, and how to confirm the assignment was saved successfully.

This article explains why the Save Profile button may appear greyed out after adding or viewing a user's team and role assignments in Smartr365, and how to confirm the assignment saved correctly.

Overview

The Save Profile button in User Management becomes inactive (greyed out) when there are no unsaved changes on the profile page. If the button is greyed out after you have added a team or role assignment, it is likely that the assignment was already saved on a prior action. This is expected behaviour — the button only activates when there is a pending change to save.

How to Confirm the Assignment Was Saved

  1. After the Save Profile button becomes greyed out, refresh the page (press F5 or Ctrl + R).

  2. Navigate back to the user's profile page.

  3. Check the Team and Role sections. If the assignments are displayed, the save completed successfully.

Step-by-Step: Adding a Team Assignment

  1. Navigate to Settings > User Management.

  2. Find the user and open their profile.

  3. Scroll to the Team section and select the team to add.

  4. Select the appropriate Role for the team assignment.

  5. Click Save Profile. The button activates as soon as you make a change and becomes greyed out again once the save completes.

  6. Refresh the page to verify the team assignment is visible on the profile.

Common Issues

  • Save Profile greyed out before you make any change: This is expected — the button only activates when a change is pending. Make your change first, then Save Profile will become clickable.

  • Team assignment not visible after refresh: Contact Smartr365 Support with the user's email address and the team name — our team can verify whether the assignment was saved in the system.

  • Save Profile stays greyed out even after making changes: Check that the user's phone number is in a valid format. An incorrectly formatted phone number (e.g. fewer than 11 digits) can prevent the profile from being saved and keep the button disabled.
