What happens if I don’t supply my data now?

It’s fine if you don’t want to supply your data at this point, you must supply your data to continue your application by a method approved by the provider of the service or product, but you don’t have to do it via Experian. Please contact the provider of the service or product to find out how to supply your data another way. Please be aware that other methods may be slower.

Is it safe to share my data with Experian?

Experian works in a very secure way and follow global security standards. Protecting your data is our priority, so we have strict and appropriate policies in place. We’ve designed this online solution in line with the regulations and rules that govern information security and data processing.

Will providing this data affect my credit score?

The data that we have requested is not used within the calculation of your credit score. However, the provision of the information may affect your likelihood of being accepted for a service or product.

Can I get a copy of the terms and conditions?

Yes, you can obtain a copy of the Terms and Conditions on the consent screen or by visiting <www.experian.co.uk/affordability/terms&conditions>

Will the provider of the service or product take into account any Credit Cards I own?

Currently, credit cards are not included in the Open Banking (Digital assessment of your income and expenditure to assist the provider of the service or product in making decisions)

Should I include my joint accounts?

Yes, you should include your joint current accounts to ensure that the provider of the service or product has a full view of your income and expenditure. You can highlight that an account is a joint account and this will be shared with the provider of the service or product.

Can I return to my application at a later date to see my information?

No, in order to ensure a swift process, we do not provide the ability to review the information at a later date. Please contact the provider of the service or product who may retain a copy of this information.

How can I run a credit search?

You can run a credit search from the case summary screen and the Credit History page.

What happens when the client's credit report comes back into the Document Store?

When the credit report comes back to the document store, the data from that Credit Report gets stored and saved in the Client's Fact Find.

What are the status and date fields on the Credit History page?

These represent the status and date of when the request for consent to the credit check was sent to the client.

Will the lender name and loan type be populated in credit commitments?

Yes, if the Experian Credit Report returns the lender name and loan type, the details will be populated in the credit commitments section.

I've received an error, "The data is invalid. Please review the details provided in the Fact Find Personal Details section including Name, Email, Telephone Number and Address History". What does this mean?

The data provided has been deemed invalid. Please make sure the Name, Email, Telephone Number and Address History are correct in the Fact Find sections.

I've received an error, "A maximum of three addresses can be provided"

Experian requires a minimum of 3 years address history for a credit check. We now allow more than 3 addresses to be passed to Experian.

I've received an error, "Address must contain either a house name or house number"

Please provide a house number or house name in the missing field.

How long does it take after clicking Run credit search to pre-populate the Fact Find and in the report doc store?

Once the success toast has been displayed, the data has populated in the Fact Find. The document may take a few more seconds to appear in the Document Store.

The client has filled in everything in the Fact Find but I'm still getting an error stating it's not filled in or missing details.

This could be because the company credentials haven't been setup for Experian yet. This process can take up to 2 weeks from your request. Please reach out to your Customer Success Representative for more information.

I don't want the new Address History information from Experian to override the Address History in Smartr365. How do I stop it?

We have a change coming soon to allow advisers to select the data they'd like to bring into the client's Fact Find.

I've received an error saying, "Unable to verify Consumers Name, Address or Date of Birth having been supplied to provide the Credit Report".

This error means that Experian cannot produce the report for the client without these details.

If we commit to one bundle for 12 months and we need to buy more, how long do we get to use the one’s that we buy. E.g. If on the 15th of the month we buy another bundle – how long do we get to use them?

The usage is reset at the start of a new month. A bundle bought on the 15th will be valid until the end of that month.

Do the credits expire at the end of the month?

Credit report credits are reset at the beginning of every month.
