Smartr In-App Reporting

Getting started with Smartr In-App Reporting

A quick guide to building your first dashboard and charts. Most reports you'll need already exist as templates, so you can be up and running in a couple of minutes.

1. Open Reporting

In the main menu, go to Reporting > All reports.

2. Work with dashboards

Your reports are organised into dashboards. From the toolbar you can:

· + New dashboard - start a fresh dashboard

· Rename - rename the current dashboard

· Reset layout - return charts to the default arrangement

· + Create chart - add a new chart (see below)

Each dashboard shows its charts in a grid, with a summary (for example, '1 chart - last updated just now'). Drag charts to rearrange them, and use the empty Add chart tile to drop in another.

3. Add a chart from a template (the quickest way)

Click + Create chart and stay on the Templates tab. Each template notes the PowerBI report it mirrors (for example, Written value & volume, Commission statement, Sales pipeline).

Pick a template on the left and it is added straight to your dashboard, ready to use. You can edit it afterwards.

4. Build a custom chart

Need something tailored? Switch to the Custom tab and build it from scratch. The Live Preview updates as you go.

Set it up in a few steps:

a. Title - give your chart a clear name (for example, Cases by status).

b. Visualization - choose how to display it: Metric, Bar, Stacked, Line, Pie, or Table.

c. Measure - choose what you are measuring. Options include Unique cases, NPW (not proceeding), Lead converted, pending lead flow, Protection written, Total client fees, and many more.

d. Group by (dimension) - break the measure down by a dimension. You can group by a period (for example, Written - month, Live - month), by People (Adviser, Negotiator, Referring adviser, Introducer company), or by Lender & product (Lender, Product type, Product sub type).

Tip: A single Metric shows just the total - no grouping required. Choose Bar, Line, Pie, and so on when you want to group by a dimension.

e. Filter - narrow the data (for example, by status or date) if needed.

f. Card size - choose how much space the chart takes on the dashboard: Small (1x1), Wide (2x1), Large (2x2), Banner (4x1), or Hero (4x2).

When the preview looks right, save it to add it to your dashboard.

5. Tips

· Start from a template - it is the fastest route, and you can customise any template after adding it.

· Use Card size to make key charts stand out (Hero/Banner) and group smaller stats together (Small).

· Rearrange anytime by dragging charts; use Reset layout to start over.
