How to record the ported mortgage balance in a port-and-additional-lending case — there is no dedicated ported balance field; the combined total goes in Mortgage Information and product details in Product Information.

This article explains how to correctly record the ported mortgage balance when setting up a port-and-additional-lending (top-up) case in Smartr365.

Overview

There is no dedicated "Ported Balance" field in Smartr365. Instead, porting cases use a two-part structure across the Mortgage Information and Product Information tabs, with additional lending recorded in the Notes section.

Where to Enter Each Amount

What

Where to enter it

Total loan amount (ported balance + additional lending combined)

Mortgage Information tab — Mortgage amount field

Ported portion product details (rate, term, lender, repayment type)

Product Information tab — enter as the first part of the mortgage

Additional lending amount and details

Notes section of the case — document the second part here

Step-by-Step

  1. Open the mortgage case and go to the Mortgage Information tab.

  2. Enter the combined total of the ported balance plus the additional lending in the mortgage amount field.

  3. Go to the Product Information tab and enter the details for the ported portion (rate, term, lender). This represents the first part of the mortgage.

  4. Go to the Notes section and document the additional lending details (amount, rate, term if known).

  5. Save the case before transferring to your network.

Common Issues

  • "There is no ported balance field in Product Information": Correct — there is no separate ported balance field. The total goes in Mortgage Information; Product Information captures the product details for the ported portion.

  • Network transfer requires specific fields: When transferring to Openwork/ConcertHub, ensure all required fields in Product Information are complete before initiating the transfer.
