For business protection cases, the GBG ID check must be completed directly on the GBG ID3 Global portal rather than through the built-in Smartr365 ID verification. This is because business protection submissions require a full ID verification that goes beyond the sanction-only check available in-platform.
Steps to complete a GBG ID check for business protection
Log in to the GBG ID3 Global portal directly and run the full ID check for your client.
Once the check is complete, download or save the ID verification document from the GBG portal.
Return to Smartr365 and open the relevant case.
Go to the Document Store and upload the ID document into the Identity folder.
In addition, run a sanction-only ID check within Smartr365 (via Top Toolbar > Verify Identity) to pass the ID validation required when submitting an ENBS (Electronic New Business Submission).
Why both checks are needed
The GBG portal check provides the full identity verification evidence required for business protection compliance.
The sanction-only check in Smartr365 satisfies the system validation that must pass before an ENBS can be submitted.
