How to Source with Sourcing Brain
Overview
Sourcing Brain is an online whole-of-market mortgage sourcing tool integrated into Smartr365. It allows you to search for mortgage products, generate illustrations, and import product details and documents directly into your Smartr365 cases.
Getting Started
Where to find it:
Quick Sourcing: Go to Quick Sourcing from the left-hand navigation, then click the Sourcing Brain card.
From a case: Open a mortgage case, go to the Sourcing tile, then click the Sourcing Brain card.
Prerequisites: You must have your Sourcing Brain credentials saved in Settings > My Credentials.
Step-by-Step Guide
Sourcing from within a Case
Open the case and navigate to the Sourcing tile.
Click Sourcing Brain.
Review the pre-populated client data (applicant details, property information, mortgage terms). This data is pulled from your case.
Click Continue to launch Sourcing Brain with this data, or start a blank session.
Sourcing Brain opens in a new browser tab. Search for products and generate illustrations as normal.
When finished, close Sourcing Brain and return to Smartr365.
Click End Session & Retrieve Products to pull back your saved illustrations.
Browse through the returned illustrations using the navigation arrows.
Click Add to Case on any illustration to import the product details and/or documents into your case.
Quick Sourcing (without a Case)
Go to Quick Sourcing and click Sourcing Brain.
Sourcing Brain launches immediately in a new tab (no data pre-population).
Search for products and generate illustrations.
Return to Smartr365 and end the session.
When you click Add to Case on an illustration, you will be prompted to create a new case with the applicant details from the sourcing session.
Tips & Best Practices
If you return to a case that already has Sourcing Brain results, you will go directly to the products page without needing to start a new session.
You can choose to import just the documents (e.g. illustrations, key facts) without updating the case product details, or both.
If your credentials have expired, you will see a message asking you to update them in Settings.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I see "To activate this service, enter your Sourcing Brain credentials in Settings > My Credentials". What do I do?
A: Your Sourcing Brain login has not been saved in Smartr365 yet. Go to Settings > My Credentials and enter your Sourcing Brain username and password.
Q: I got an error when launching Sourcing Brain from a case. What should I check?
A: Ensure the case has the required client data: title, date of birth, employment status, salary, and mortgage details (buyer type, purchase price, deposit, term). Incomplete data can prevent Sourcing Brain from creating a sourcing session.
