How to Set Up and Use Paymentshield for Home Insurance

Complete guide for configuring Paymentshield credentials and using it for home insurance quotes and referrals in Smartr365.

Overview

Paymentshield allows you to generate home insurance quotes and submit referrals directly from a case in Smartr365. It requires adviser-level credentials for quotes and an introducer code for referrals.

Setting Up Paymentshield

Quote Credentials

  1. Navigate to Settings > My Credentials > Paymentshield

  2. Enter the following:

Referral Credentials (Separate)

  1. Navigate to Settings > My Credentials > Paymentshield Referral

  2. Enter your Introducer Code (max 6 characters)

  3. Click Save

How to Get a Quote

  1. Open the case and navigate to the Home Insurance section

  2. Select Paymentshield as the provider

  3. Click Get Quote

  4. Review the results including:

    • Buildings and contents cover amounts

    • Excess amounts

    • Annual and monthly premiums

    • Commission rate and amount

  5. Click Add to Case to link the quote

How to Submit a Referral

  1. From the Home Insurance section, select Paymentshield Referral

  2. Choose the preferred contact method:

    • SMS

    • Email

  3. Select the referral type:

    • Online referral

    • Telephony referral

  4. Optionally set preferred contact date and time slots

  5. Click Submit Referral

Troubleshooting

Issue

Solution

Paymentshield option not visible

Check the Paymentshield feature flag is enabled for your firm

Credentials error on quote

Verify User ID, Passkey, and Branch Number in Settings > My Credentials > Paymentshield

Referral fails

Check your Introducer Code is saved in My Credentials > Paymentshield Referral

Time slot unavailable

The system will suggest alternative available dates/times
