This article explains why the delete icon on the Mortgages list can be blocked, and how to delete a mortgage case using the correct path through the Cases screen.
Why the Mortgages List Delete Icon Is Blocked
When a mortgage is the last (or only) product linked to the primary or secondary applicant on a case, Smartr365 prevents deletion from the Mortgages list to protect the case structure. You will see a message such as "last product for primary or secondary applicant". This is by design — removing it from this view would leave the applicant without any product.
How to Delete the Case Correctly
To fully delete the case, use the Cases screen rather than the Mortgages list:
Go to the Cases screen (the main case list, not the Mortgages sub-section within a case).
Find the case you want to delete.
Click the delete icon (bin/trash icon) next to the case in the Cases list.
Confirm the deletion when prompted. This removes the entire case and its associated products in one action.
Important Notes
Deleting a case from the Cases screen is permanent and removes all case data, documents, and associated products. Ensure you have confirmed with the relevant parties before deleting.
If you do not see a delete option on the Cases screen, your account may not have the required permissions. Contact your System Administrator.
If you only need to remove one product from a multi-product case (rather than delete the entire case), you may need to add an alternative product first before the system permits deletion of the original one.
