How up to date is Reporting?

Reporting refreshes four times a day. Here's how to read the "Data to" line and when a change you make will appear.

Reporting isn't live. It works from a copy of your firm's data that refreshes four times a day, so a change you make on a case appears in Reporting after the next refresh, not straight away. There's nothing to refresh yourself.

The "Data to" line

Every report and dashboard shows how up to date it is, under its name:

Data to 1 Oct, 14:30 · refreshes four times a day, next about 17:30

  • Data to — everything up to this time is included. Where different kinds of data refresh at slightly different times, this shows the oldest, so it never overstates how fresh the figures are.

  • next about — roughly when the next refresh will land, in your own time zone. It adds tomorrow when the next refresh is the following day.

When refreshes land

New data arrives at about 05:30, 11:00, 14:30 and 17:30 UTC. In the UK that's about:

  • 6:30am, 12:00pm, 3:30pm and 6:30pm while the clocks are on British Summer Time,

  • 5:30am, 11:00am, 2:30pm and 5:30pm in winter.

Nothing refreshes overnight, so a change made in the evening appears early the next morning.

A figure looks out of date

  1. Check the Data to time. If your change was made after it, it isn't in yet; it will be after the next refresh.

  2. Check the case itself. If a field is empty on the case, it's empty in the report too. Blank cells in a table say why they're empty, and the Filled in line under a table shows how complete each column is. See Work with tables.

  3. If you're an adviser, remember Reporting shows your own cases. A manager's figures for the same report cover the whole firm.
