Reporting FAQs

Quick answers to common questions about Reporting, dashboards, filters, dates and exports.

Dashboards and reports

How do I create another dashboard?

On any dashboard, click New dashboard. You can also create one while adding a report: choose New dashboard… in Add to after Customise first, or in the add list on a report page if you already have more than one dashboard. See Manage your dashboards.

Can I change a ready-made report?

Yes. Click Customise first on the report page to change it before adding it to a dashboard, or Edit chart on a chart that's already there. Reset chart puts a ready-made chart back to its original. See Build or edit a chart or table.

Why can't I add a report to a company dashboard?

Company dashboards are published copies, so nobody edits them directly. Add the report to one of your own dashboards; a manager or system administrator can then publish it. See Manage your dashboards.

Can I share a dashboard with colleagues?

Managers and system administrators can click Publish to company to share one with everyone at the firm. Anyone can take their own copy of a company dashboard with Duplicate to my dashboards.

How do I delete or resize a chart?

Open the chart's menu (⋮). Delete removes it; the sizes are listed at the top of the menu.

I can't find a report I used to use.

Building charts and tables

How do I show several figures in one table?

Choose Table as the visualization, then use Add column in the Columns list to add each figure you want, such as number of cases, mortgage value and commission.

How do I split a chart by two things?

For a bar, stacked or line chart, choose Break down by and then Then split by, for example adviser by month. For a table, add both as columns.

Why are some options greyed out?

They can't be combined with what's already on the chart. Hover over one to see why, and what to remove to make it available.

Where have the Firm, Network and FCA number columns gone?

On your own firm's reports every row is your firm, so those columns would show the same value on every row. They're no longer offered there. A chart that already has one keeps it.

Dates and filters

How do I report on a date range?

Use the date picker at the top of a report or dashboard, which applies the period to each chart's own relevant date. For one chart only, add a date filter such as Written between in the chart editor. See Filters and date ranges.

Where are "Written after" and "Written before"?

Use Written between and leave the end you don't need empty: set only the start for "from this date", or only the end for "up to this date". The same goes for the other dates. Created after and Created before are still available.

Why didn't one chart change when I changed the dashboard dates?

It has its own date filter, and shows an own date range label. Remove that filter in the chart editor to bring it back under the dashboard's dates.

Figures and access

Why doesn't Reporting show a change I've just made?

Reporting refreshes four times a day. Check Data to under the report name; your change will appear after the next refresh. See How up to date is Reporting?.

Why are my figures lower than my manager's?

Advisers see their own cases. Managers and system administrators see the whole firm.

Why is a report greyed out in the library?

It counts the whole firm and can't be narrowed to one adviser's cases. Ask a manager or system administrator to run it.

Why is a column empty?

Usually because the information hasn't been entered on the cases. Blank cells say why (Not recorded, None linked or Not applicable), and the Filled in line under a table shows how complete each column is. See Work with tables.

Why are the download buttons locked?

Data export is switched off for your firm. A system administrator at your firm can advise.

I see an error with a reference code.

Click Try again if it's offered. If it keeps happening, contact Smartr365 support and quote the reference; it lets us find exactly what went wrong.

I can't see Reporting at all.

It hasn't been switched on for your firm yet. Ask a system administrator at your firm to request it, or contact Smartr365 support.
