Can I edit fact find questions?

No, the fact find questions cannot be edited. The questions are standardised based on lender requirements, ensuring the information collected matches what lenders need to assess mortgage eligibility.

Why are the questions fixed?

The fact find is designed to feed directly into lender submissions via integrated services such as Sourcing and SmartrConnect. Keeping the questions consistent means:

  • Your client data can be submitted to lenders without re-entering information manually.

  • All required lender fields are covered, reducing the risk of incomplete applications.

  • Compliance standards are maintained across your firm.

What you can customise

While you cannot change the questions themselves, System Administrators and Advisers can control which sections of the fact find are shown to clients on the client portal. To do this:

  1. Navigate to Settings from the left-hand menu.

  2. Select Default Client Portal Sections.

  3. Use the checkboxes to enable or disable individual sections and sub-sections (e.g. About You, Your Finances, Your Outgoings, Your Existing Properties, Your Mortgage, Protection Policies).

  4. Click Save to apply your changes.

Advisers can also set their own personal defaults, which override the firm-wide settings for cases they manage.
