Overview
Nationwide is available through SmartrConnect for Decision in Principle (DIP) submissions. Nationwide has several unique requirements including lending centre selection, property region, and mortgage history questions that must be completed before submission.

Mandatory Case Data
Nationwide requires more specific data than most lenders. Ensure the following is complete before submitting:
General Requirements
FCA Number — Your firm's FCA number must be configured in Settings
Buyer Type — Must be Remortgage, First Time Buyer, or Purchase

Mortgage History Questions (Per Applicant)
Nationwide requires specific mortgage history declarations:
Has/had a mortgage with another lender in the past 12 months?
Has/had a mortgage with Nationwide in the past 12 months?
Had a mortgage with another lender in the past 13 to 36 months?
Had a mortgage with Nationwide in the past 13 to 36 months?

Selecting a Lending Centre
Before submitting a DIP, you must select a Nationwide lending centre:
In the Nationwide submission section, click to view available lending centres
Select the appropriate lending centre for your case
This determines the payment routing for the application
Submitting a DIP
Complete all standard fact-find data
Fill in all Nationwide-specific fields (occupation, industry, mortgage history)
Select the property region and lending centre
Enter rent expenditure details
Navigate to SmartrConnect and select Nationwide
Review the submission preview — Smartr365 validates against Nationwide's requirements
Submit your DIP
Common Validation Errors
"Only Remortgage is currently supported" — The New Purchase feature is not enabled for your firm. Contact your account manager
"Invalid Buyer Type" — Only Remortgage, First Time Buyer, and Purchase are supported
Missing lending centre — You must select a lending centre before submitting
Missing property region — Property region is mandatory for all Nationwide submissions
Missing mortgage history answers — All four mortgage history questions must be answered per applicant
