Add a report to a dashboard

Keep a ready-made report on one of your dashboards as it is, or change its columns and filters first with Customise first.

Any ready-made report can go on one of your dashboards, where it stays up to date and you can change it later. Open the report from Browse reports, then use one of the two buttons at the top of the report page.

Add it as it is

If you have one dashboard, the button names it, for example Add to My dashboard. Click it and the report is added.

If you have more than one, the button reads Add to dashboard. Click it to open a list of your dashboards, with the one you used last at the top, then pick one. Choose New dashboard… to create a dashboard that holds just this report.

Either way, you stay on the report and see Added to … beside the button. Click View dashboard to go there, or carry on and add more reports from the library.

Company dashboards appear in the list greyed out. They're published copies, so you can't add to them directly. Add the report to one of your own dashboards, then a manager or system administrator can publish it to the company. See Manage your dashboards.

Change it before you add it

Click Customise first to open the chart editor with the report already loaded: all its columns, its filters, its chart type and a live preview.

  1. Make your changes. For example, remove columns you don't need, add others, add a filter or change the chart type. See Build or edit a chart or table.

  2. In Add to, at the bottom of the editor, choose the dashboard. It starts on the dashboard you used last. New dashboard… is there too.

  3. Click Add to dashboard.

You stay on the report and see Added to …, as above. Nothing is added if you click Cancel.

The chart you add is your own version. You can rename it, resize it or edit it again from the dashboard at any time. If we add a new standard column to the report later, it appears on your version too, but columns you removed stay removed.

Add from the dashboard instead

You can also add reports while you're on a dashboard:

  • On an empty dashboard, click one of the suggested reports.

  • Click Create chart (or Add chart), choose the Templates tab, pick a report, adjust it on the Custom tab and click Apply.

These add to the dashboard you're looking at.
