How to Use Twenty7Tec for Mortgage Sourcing

Complete guide to setting up OAuth credentials, running mortgage sourcing sessions, and using new case sourcing with Twenty7Tec in Smartr365.

Updated this week

Overview

Twenty7Tec is a mortgage sourcing platform integrated into Smartr365. It supports two main workflows: standard case-level sourcing (searching for products within an existing case) and new case sourcing (creating new cases from Twenty7Tec search results). Twenty7Tec uses OAuth 2.0 authentication, meaning you authorise Smartr365 to access your Twenty7Tec account.

Setting Up OAuth Credentials

Twenty7Tec requires OAuth 2.0 credentials to be configured at the business level by a System Admin, plus individual adviser authorisation.

Step 1: Business-Level Configuration (System Admin)

A System Admin must configure the following in Settings:

Field

Description

Required

Client ID

OAuth Client ID provided by Twenty7Tec

Yes

Client Secret

OAuth Client Secret provided by Twenty7Tec

Yes

Encryption Key

Data encryption key provided by Twenty7Tec

Yes

Step 2: Adviser Authorisation

Each adviser must authorise their own Twenty7Tec account:

  1. Navigate to the Twenty7Tec sourcing option

  2. You will be redirected to Twenty7Tec's authorisation page

  3. Log in with your Twenty7Tec credentials and grant access

  4. You will be redirected back to Smartr365 β€” your access and refresh tokens are stored securely

Note: Tokens refresh automatically. If your refresh token expires, you'll need to re-authorise.

Standard Case Sourcing

  1. Open your case and navigate to the Sourcing section

  2. Select Twenty7Tec as your sourcing option

  3. Your client data is sent to Twenty7Tec automatically:

    • Personal details (name, date of birth, contact information)

    • Employment and income

    • Address history

    • Mortgage requirements

  4. Complete your search in Twenty7Tec

  5. Results and documents (illustrations, KFIs) are returned to Smartr365 via webhook callbacks

New Case Sourcing

New Case Sourcing lets you search for products in Twenty7Tec first, then create a new case in Smartr365 from the results.

  1. Open the Twenty7Tec new case sourcing option

  2. Run your search directly in Twenty7Tec

  3. When you find a suitable product, create a new case in Smartr365 and import the results

Note: New Case Sourcing is controlled by a separate feature flag and may not be available to all firms.

Webhooks and Document Delivery

Twenty7Tec uses event subscriptions (webhooks) to notify Smartr365 when documents are generated. When you complete a sourcing session:

  • Twenty7Tec generates documents (illustrations, KFIs)

  • A webhook notifies Smartr365

  • Documents are automatically downloaded and attached to your case

Common Issues

OAuth Token Expired

Access tokens expire periodically. Smartr365 automatically refreshes them using your stored refresh token. If the refresh token also expires, you'll see an authorisation prompt β€” simply re-authorise with Twenty7Tec.

Missing OAuth Configuration

If you see an error about missing credentials, contact your System Admin to verify the Client ID, Client Secret, and Encryption Key are configured in Settings.

New Case Sourcing Not Available

New Case Sourcing requires a separate feature flag. Contact your account manager if you need this feature enabled.
